Global Talent Immigration Performance
Tickets now available
Global Talent Immigration Performance is a three-year durational work that begins when my UK Global Talent visa comes into effect on 12 November 2025 and ends when it expires on 12 November 2028. The project uses the visa itself as both stage and material, exposing the conditions, rules, and absurdities of living, working, and being recognized as a “Global Talent” within a system that decides who qualifies and what counts as artistic value.
Overview
The performance explores what it means to live and work under a visa designed for artists officially recognized as “Global Talent.” Over three years, I will document the daily realities, contradictions, and absurdities of navigating legal, bureaucratic, and institutional systems. As before, I’ll be questioning who gets to be called “global,” what counts as “talent,” and how artistic practice is measured, regulated, and made visible within these frameworks.
The performance
The work unfolds entirely online via a share code, documenting the daily realities of life and work as an artist in the United Kingdom. I will publish fragments of this lived process including:
-
Official documents
-
Correspondence
-
Notes
-
Photographs
-
Works in progress
-
Moments of absurdity encountered in institutional systems
These materials collectively form a public record of my negotiation for the right to live and work as an artist within a framework that selectively defines who may be called “global” and what counts as “talent.” Access to this material is granted through a one-time ticket purchase, reflecting the economic and legal structures that shape artistic mobility while making participation itself part of the performance.
Fragments & Archive
Each published fragment contributes to a living archive, where administrative labour, artistic practice, and daily survival converge. The record highlights the absurdities, contradictions, and power dynamics of the systems that govern artistic mobility, turning routine bureaucracy into an ongoing, public performance. Access through a ticket purchase makes the act of witnessing part of this negotiation.
Entry options
Entry to the performance is granted through a one-time ticket purchase. The paywall reflects the economic and legal frameworks that govern artistic mobility, making the cost of participation part of the work itself. Ticket categories indicate how much of the administrative machinery each audience wishes to engage with, turning participation into an act of negotiating the very systems the performance exposes.
