Betül AksuTAISAI - The Artist’s Inner Speech About Interactivity
2020
Chatbot

TAISAI is a chatbot that gives voice to the artist’s internal monologue about the future of interactive art in a post-pandemic world. Developed in response to the shift from physical exhibitions to online platforms, TAISAI turns this transition into a speculative, self-reflective dialogue. What was once a tactile, site-specific installation evolves into a humorous and critical conversation with the audience, exploring what interactivity might become when physical presence is no longer guaranteed.

Built using the Feminist Chatbot Design Process and the Feminist Design Tool, TAISAI foregrounds the values and biases embedded in digital systems. Each conversation offers a new sub-narrative, where the chatbot mediates between the artist and the viewer, challenging conventional ideas of authorship, access, and engagement. By using the chatbot format to reflect on artistic process and digital futures, TAISAI invites audiences to rethink what interactivity means, who it serves, and how it can be reimagined with care, humor, and criticality.
