mono screenprint

Terracotta Valley (first step, second step, third step) is an exploration of the relationship between process and permanence. Through three mono screenprints, Betül reflects on the act of creation, drawing connections between her study of printmaking and ceramics. Inspired by a ceramics teacher’s remark about the lasting nature of fired clay, Betül imagines a valley formed from all the terracotta ever made. The prints trace the stages of creation, echoing the iterative process of both mediums and the enduring impact of material across time.
